For centuries art historians have analysed and studied the fine art prints of Rembrandt, Dürer and others in an effort to uncover the secrets locked within printmaking techniques.

The Library and Graphic Studio Dublin present Artist's Proof, an exhibition celebrating the stages that lead up to a final fine art print.

These limited edition prints by 24 printmaking artists, are displayed alongside two working proofs to provide a glimpse of how the print was made.  Nine international and invited artists and 15 Graphic Studio members are participating in the exhibition.

The invited artists are: Norman Ackroyd RA (UK), Christopher Le Brun RA (UK), Arno Kramer (Netherlands), Elaine Leader (Ireland), David Lilburn (Ireland), Mary Modeen (USA), Lars Nyberg (Sweden), Barbara Rae (UK), Hayashi Takahiko (Japan), and Graphic Studio Dublin members included are: Gerard Cox, Gráinne Cuffe, Cliona Doyle, Niamh Flanagan, Desmond Kenny, Brian Lalor, Jennifer Lane, Stephen Lawlor, Sharon Lee, James McCreary, Niall Naessens, Ruth O'Donnell, Tom Phelan, Robert Russell and Katherine Van Uytrecht.

Admission is free and all limited edition prints are for sale through the Library's giftshop.  A fully illustrated catalogue accompanies the exhibition.
