Accessibility

For visitors with reduced mobility, the most suitable entrance is via the Ship St Gate of Dublin Castle, as it is the closest entrance to the Library.  See map HERE.

If you are coming by car and you have a Disabled Person's Parking Permit or Card, you will be permitted access to the grounds of the Castle, via the Ship Street entrance.

The Library is a wheelchair/buggy-friendly building and with our audiovisual presentations and automated doors to all public areas, access to the collection is facilitated.

Many of the most important exhibitions are placed at a comparatively low height to facilitate viewing by those visitors who are wheelchair-bound.

Wheelchairs are available free of charge.

Bathroom facilities are available for visitors with impaired mobility.

The lecture theatre is fitted with a loop system.

Visitors with guide dogs are welcome in the Library.

The Library's main information leaflet is available in BRAILLE at the front desk, upon request.
